Memorial Hospital Named to National Best Place to Work List
The recognitions have been coming at a steady pace for Memorial Hospital of Union County and the administration learned of a new one this week. The local hospital is being nationally recognized as one of the top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare magazine which evaluates hospitals, healthcare organizations and industry-related companies. Memorial Hospital has to wait until late October to learn their exact rank on that list.
“We are incredibly honored to be called out as a best place to work in healthcare,” comments Chip Hubbs, Memorial Hospital CEO and President. “The evaluation process for consideration was extensive including a complex survey of our employees. We are very grateful for the positive feedback provided by our team members that led to this national recognition.”
Modern Healthcare, a national healthcare publication that focuses on providing executives with information to best lead their organizations, conducts this program to recognize outstanding employers in the healthcare industry on a national level. Employers must complete a survey detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees are asked in-depth questions that result in an analysis in eight core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.
The actual data collection and evaluation is completed by Best Companies Group, a Pennsylvania-based company. Using its thorough workplace assessment including employer questionnaires and employee satisfaction surveys, Best Companies Group identifies and recognizes companies who have been successful in creating and maintaining workplace excellence.
When asked why this honor matters to patients, Hubbs provides, “We value every single one of our employees and, in turn, our team extends that same respect and care to every single one of our patients. We believe that if we take good care of our team members, that will carry over into the care they provide every day to the thousands of patients who walk through our doors.”
Past announcements from Modern Healthcare report that those recognized by this honor are models for others who seek to build a culture of support and engagement, resulting in optimum performance levels and multiple benefits for patients.
In addition to this recent honor as being named one of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare, other achievements recently provided to Memorial include having been recognized #1 in Ohio and #10 in the nation for patient safety by the leading consumer magazine, listed as Top 5% in the nation for Outstanding Patient Experience™ by Healthgrades® and ranked every quarter for years at or near the top in Central Ohio for customer service amongst all hospitals.
