Fishman to Lead Clinical Informatics
Jake Fishman, RN, BSN has been promoted to manage the new Clinical Informatics department at Memorial Health, to facilitate in the understanding and use of technology related to electronic patient records. The creation of the Clinical Informatics department will enable Fishman to continue work from his previous position as a Clinical Applications Analyst. Two other staff have joined him in the new department.
“Clinical informatics is about organizing and making information more accessible, in ways that make us more efficient and effective in the care of our patients,” explains Chip Hubbs, President and CEO of Memorial Health. “The variety of experiences, both inside our industry and in others, makes Jake particularly effective in bridging connections here at Memorial.”
Fishman has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from the University of Toledo, an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Columbus State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University. His previous positions at Memorial include Patient Care Technician, Registered Nurse in the inpatient unit, and Clinical System Liaison. Prior to coming to Memorial in 2007, he worked at Quest Diagnostics in Columbus, Business Research International in Worthington, and Rawhide Search Solutions in Toledo. He resides in Marysville.
