    Central Ohio's First Needle Disposal Program Comes From Community Partnership

    Union County diabetics and other residents who self administer medications in their homes have a new, safe way to dispose of their used needles, syringes and finger stick devices. Memorial Hospital of Union County and the Union County Health Department have teamed up to develop a community needles disposal program. The outreach program, funded by the local United Way, allows for the proper disposal of these commonly used instruments at no cost to consumers, preventing potential exposure situations and health hazards.

    Memorial Hospital's Development Council has funded the purchase of a new adult colonoscope for use in Memorial Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Center. It will rest in the skilled hands of the new GI physicians and general surgeons including Adam Tzagournis, MD; Michael Tzagournis, MD; Gordon Kim, DO; Tasos Manokas, DO; Bradley Bryan, MD; and Donald Reed, MD.

    Page Assumes Reins of Imaging Services at Memorial Hospital

    Memorial Hospital of Union has hired Mareva Page as director of imaging services. In that role, she will participate on the management team of the hospital and oversee services including mammography, x-ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, non-invasive angiography, MRI and CT scan.

    Hospital Employees Donate Cell Phones to Prosecutor's Office

    The Victims of Crime Unit with the Union County Prosecutor's Office has teamed up with PIP members of Memorial Hospital of Union County and The Gables of Green Pastures. PIP, or Partners in Progress, is the organization's employee giving program as part of the hospital's Development Council. Employees were encouraged to donate the cell phones they no longer use to help victims of domestic violence. As an added benefit, the handover offers an alternative to simply throwing out old phones which can pose an environmental threat.
