Memorial Wound Care Open in Marysville
Memorial Wound Care is now open
Memorial Wound Care is now open to provide local, state-of-the-art treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds which are debilitating for many area residents. Specially trained clinical staff and physicians there collaborate with patient’s physicians to develop customized, comprehensive care plans.
This new service offers advanced therapies, including two hyperbaric chambers. In hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the patient lies inside a pressurized chamber and breathes 100 percent oxygen, which travels into the patient’s blood to enrich and promote healing in the affected area.
People who often require such an advanced level of wound care are those diagnosed with Diabetes, Peripheral Vascular Disease, or neuropathy. Others may suffer from pressure- or cancer-related ulcers, infection, or have undergone an amputation. Warning symptoms that advanced wound care may be needed include wounds that do not heal within 30 days; infected surgical wounds; or sores with increasing pain, redness, swelling, foul odor, or a change in color.
“It’s estimated that the annual cost for wound care treatment in our country totals $52 billion,” explains Chip Hubbs, President and CEO of Memorial Health. “Our physicians at Memorial Wound Care have specialized training that will improve rates of healing, reduce related hospital re-admissions, and reduce the risks of amputation or other complications related to chronic wounds.”
Memorial Wound Care, located at 483 Coleman’s Crossing Boulevard in Marysville, is operated in partnership with Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. For information, or to make an appointment, call (937) 578- HEAL (4325).
