Memorial Hospital was awarded an ‘A’ in the fall 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Memorial’s achievements protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade assigns an ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ or ‘F’ grade to all general hospitals across the country and is updated every six months. Memorial Hospital announces the appointment of Dannielle Schroeder as the organization’s Nurse Director of Surgery.
Schroeder joined Memorial in 2007, starting out on the surgical nursing team as an RN. In 2012, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Chamberlain University College of Nursing and was later promoted to Clinical Coordinator. In 2016, she earned her Master of Business Administration/Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Otterbein University. As of November 2, 2020, Jason Russell, DO, will officially take the reins as Chief Medical Officer of Memorial Health. Named to the position this summer, Dr. Russell succeeds Dr. Victor Trianfo, who is retiring after 21 years with Memorial and over 42 years in the healthcare field. Russell most recently served as the Medical Director of Quality and Risk and Chair of the Memorial Medical Staff Department of Medicine.
