At its monthly meeting, the Board of Trustees of Memorial Health approved the purchase of six acres of land near the intersection of Routes 42 and 33, with frontage along the busy highway that runs from Dublin to Marysville and to the northwest. “This is a highly traveled corridor in Union County, the fastest growing county in the state,” comments Spence Fisher, Executive Vice President at Memorial Health. “We already draw a significant number of patients from the businesses and homes in the southern Union County and Plain City area. Bringing many of our services closer to them makes sense.”
The $1.6 million site will be home to a new medical office building, but construction will not begin immediately. Next steps for the growing health system will be to evaluate the complement of services best suited to the new location and work with an architect to bring shape to the project. “We have built outpatient facilities in Urbana and at City Gate in Marysville in the last decade,” provides Fisher. “These facilities have been successful and well designed, but there is always something we would have modified, so this will be our chance to build an even more perfect building to deliver exceptional care.”
A groundbreaking timeline is not yet set.
