Ways to Give
Memorial Health Foundation Golf Classic
The 35th Annual Golf Classic will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the beautiful Darby Creek Golf Course. A traditional shotgun start at 9:00 am will follow the 8:00 am light breakfast. Serving as one of the area’s favored golf events, the Memorial Golf Classic is recognized as a fun event for a rewarding cause.
Since 1952, Memorial has continuously evolved to meet the needs of our communities, many of which continue to grow and prosper at accelerated rates. As the needs of those who come to us for care increase, we strive to advance our health services, as well as expand the capacity of our facilities. That is why funds from this year’s Memorial Golf Classic will be allocated toward the completion of 12 additional rooms in the Inpatient Pavilion. Rooms are expected to be open to patients next fall.
Please call (937) 578-4272 for availability.

AREA OF GREATEST NEED
Donations designated to the area of greatest need allow Memorial to adapt quickly and concentrate on making an immediate impact when an area of greatest need is identified. These needs may include new medical equipment, expansion of services, or investment in healthcare technology. Your donation to the area of greatest need allows the Memorial Health Foundation to respond quickly to community needs as they arise.
Cancer affects more than just the physical wellbeing of a person. Gifts to oncology support clinical care and patient programs related to both the treatment of cancer and the emotional support patients need to keep life on track for themselves and their family during this life-changing journey.
As the leading cause of death in Ohio, heart disease affects one in three people and creates daily struggles for too many patients and their families. By donating to cardiovascular health, you are aiding in the provision of equipment, education, and services that will enhance patient care.

Many community members and Memorial staff have asked how they can honor the life and legacy of Dr. Douglas Skura. In response, the Memorial Health Foundation is raising funds to create an endowment for the Douglas S. Skura Memorial Scholarship, which will recognize the contributions he made to medicine and honor him as a compassionate Memorial Health team member and dedicated physician. This scholarship will be awarded to selected medical school enrollees in their pursuit to become a physician. The Union County Hospital Association (UCHA) was incorporated in 1945 with the purpose of providing improved healthcare for the people of Union County. With many veterans returning from World War II, the people of Union County came together to provide for the care of those who had been wounded and to memorialize those who had made the ultimate sacrifice for their neighbors and community. With community generosity and a matching federal grant, Memorial Hospital of Union County opened in 1952.
In the fall of 2014, the Union County Hospital Association changed its operating name to the Memorial Health Foundation to provide expanded philanthropic giving opportunities in support of the charitable mission of Memorial Hospital, Memorial Gables, and related operations — now part of Memorial Health. The Memorial Health Foundation supports our next generation of growth and expanded community services.
