Memorial Health has welcomed the selection of a new board member, Bob Schwyn. Appointed by the Union County Commissioners and two local judges, Schwyn will fill the unexpired term for the seat formerly held by Greg Sehnert and will take an active role on the eight-member volunteer Board of Trustees who governs the path of Memorial Health.
Schwyn currently is a Senior Partner with The Chartis Group, a management and consulting firm, where he oversees the Digital & Technology Transformation practice for healthcare clients across the nation. For over 40 years, he has served in a variety of leadership roles within healthcare settings, with more than 25 years of experience as a Healthcare Information Technology executive. His expertise is rooted in leading teams towards clinical transformation, in addition to the design and delivery of solutions for enhancing patient care quality, improving operational effectiveness, and achieving excellence in customer service.
He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dayton with a concentration in Information Systems. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Franklin University.
Schwyn grew up on a farm in Northwest Ohio, moving to Union County in 1992, where he currently lives with his wife, Linda. They are the parents of three adult children with seven grandchildren in the family. Leaning into his deep roots in agriculture, Schwyn has partnered with his sons to run a small crop operation locally. The new trustee also currently serves as a board member for 2nd Chances.
Discussing his appointment to the board, Schwyn shared, “Serving on the Memorial Health Board of Trustees will allow me to combine two of my personal aspirations – a focused objective to contribute to my community healthcare system, providing leadership that can continue to help achieve optimal quality outcomes and service for the residents of our expanding region. This, combined with an inherent passion to give back to the community where my family calls home. I look forward to working with Memorial’s Senior Leadership team and my fellow board trustees.”
Schwyn will join the current board members including Chairperson Emily Wieringa; Vice-Chairperson Doug Loudenslager; Past Chairperson Gary McDowell; Tina Owens-Ruff; Kent Hawkins, DDS; Cassandra (Casey) Converse; and Kim Cutler.
