Margaret Mawhirter, PA-C

As a physician assistant with the Memorial General & Colorectal Surgery team, Margaret (Maggie) is dedicated to helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their surgical care. She believes effective care begins with understanding each patient as an individual and ensuring they are actively involved in decisions about their health.

Maggie prioritizes open communication and takes the time to answer questions, address concerns, and explain diagnoses and treatment plans in a clear, approachable way. She partners closely with patients and the surgical team to create individualized care plans that reflect each patient’s needs, values, and goals, while providing compassionate support from diagnosis through recovery.

Maggie’s surgical clinical training included rotations in cardiothoracic surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic/reconstructive surgery, as well as general surgery, providing her with a wellrounded foundation for caring for patients with
diverse needs.

She received her Master of Physician Assistant from Ohio Dominican University and her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotions, Nutrition, and Exercise Science from The Ohio State University.

In her free time, Maggie enjoys running, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
