Dr. Karas is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with nearly 15 years of experience in the field. He specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery and has most recently served at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Spine Health. Previous to that, Dr. Karas was Chief of Neurosurgery at Grant Medical Center, part of OhioHealth, as well as the Medical Director of Neurosurgery at Mercy Brain and Spine Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
His clinical expertise includes the full spectrum of spine conditions—from degenerative disorders such as osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, and spinal stenosis, to traumatic injuries like spinal fractures, herniated discs, and spinal cord injuries. Dr. Karas will provide a range of treatment options, including both non-surgical and surgical interventions, along with advanced procedures such as spinal cord stimulation for failed back syndrome and kyphoplasty for compression fractures.
