Dr. Ekstrand knew he was first interested in medicine when he broke his arm at the age of 6 – watching the doctor treat and care for him was the “coolest thing ever.” His philosophy of care is to build relationships with his patients so together, they can navigate health concerns and wellness plans.
Dr. Ekstrand earned his Doctorate of Osteopathy from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, with both his family medicine residency and internship completed at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He previously served the Lancaster and Amanda communities as a family medicine physician at Fairfield Healthcare Professionals.
Personalized care is his goal, and he works to provide each of his patients with a holistic approach to their overall health. His specialties include hypertension, diabetes, obesity, COPD, and asthma.
Dr. Ekstrand is married with two daughters – so princess-themed activities are a mainstay of his life. The Ekstrand family enjoys Friday Movie Nights and home improvements. He also has a passion for exploring and cooking up new recipes.
