Dr. Robert Rupert leads cancer services for Memorial as a full-time oncologist and provides clinical oncology services daily at the Memorial Specialty Care Center.
Dr. Rupert’s background includes over 28 years of experience in oncology and hematology, previously as Medical Director for Oncology at the OSUCCC – James’ JamesCare East clinic in Columbus. In addition, he served as Assistant Professor-Clinical in the Divisions of Medical Oncology and Hematology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Rupert completed postdoctoral education included fellowship training in hematology/oncology, as well as his residency and internship, at The Ohio State University Hospitals. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, as well as board-certified in the subspecialties of hematology and oncology. In 2001, the Cancer Survivors Research Foundation honored Dr. Rupert as the Outstanding Oncology Caregiver award winner and the American Cancer Society has designated him as a Clinical Oncology Fellow.
Dr. Rupert has been a member of several clinical trial cooperative groups, including the Leukemia Group B (CALGB), the Cancer Trials Support Unit (CTSU), the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), as well as the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG).
