Dr. Ryan Wagner Joins Memorial Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, New Leaders for Materials and Laboratory.
Memorial Health announces Ryan Wagner, MD, has joined Memorial Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, as well as the appointment of Kyle Braskett as the organization’s Materials Director and the appointment of Larry Walker, MT (ASCP), MPA, as Laboratory Director.
Memorial Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has welcomed a new provider – Ryan Wagner, MD. As a sports medicine physician, Dr. Wagner is serving non-surgical orthopedic/sports medicine patients, as well as providing support as team physician at Memorial’s partnership schools. He provides specialized and comprehensive care catered specifically to athletes, active people, and those who want to be more active. Additionally, Dr. Wagner specializes in regenerative medicine – non-surgical measures to enhance the body’s natural healing process.
Dr. Wagner’s lifelong interest and involvement in sports prompted him to train in Sports Medicine. At Ohio Northern University, he played football and ran track, earning six varsity letters. He was Ohio Athletic Conference Long Jump Champion three times and qualified for the NCAA national competition three times.
Dr. Wagner completed his primary care/sports medicine fellowship at Summa Health System and his family medicine residency at Aultman Hospital. He received his medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He lives in the Delaware area with his wife, Natalie, and their two daughters. Braskett joins Memorial as Materials Director after 11 years with OhioHealth Berger Hospital in Circleville, Ohio – here he served in leadership roles for Logistics, Pharmacy Systems, Inventory, and Materials. Additionally, he worked for four years prior at OhioHealth Physicians Group. His education includes a Bachelor of Business from Muskingum University. Known for his innovative approaches, Braskett was chosen for this leadership role at Memorial for his implementation of inventory management solutions that optimized resources as well as elevated the standards of service and delivery.
Braskett and his wife, Tiffany, have relocated to Maryville and are anxious to learn the region. They are passionate about making a positive impact in their community, and have actively participated in Food for the Hungry, Operation Christmas Child, and helping local food banks in the past.
Memorial is also proud to share the addition of Walker as Director for the Memorial Hospital Laboratory. Walker brings over 33 years of experience in administration of laboratory services, including 28 years in leadership roles for University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Walker holds a Master of Public Administration, with an Emphasis in Health Care Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, both from Kent State University.
Walker has extensive experience with oversight of all laboratory functions, including accreditations with the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and Joint Commission. He has two children, Andrew and Kaitlin, and together they enjoy traveling often.
