Memorial Health Bestowed with Multiple National and Statewide Recognitions
Reinforcing its reputation as a high-performing healthcare system, Memorial Health has recently achieved several prestigious national awards for patient care, as well as a statewide honor for the growing organization’s employee wellness programs.
Commenting on the designations, Chip Hubbs, Memorial Health CEO & President shares, “Day in, day out, our team members are taking strides to advance care for our patients across the region. And, having our organization receive these prominent recognitions is a direct reflection of Memorial’s nationally-recognized quality of care. We are proud to stand amongst other clinical leaders in Ohio and the nation.”
The award distinctions include:
- First, Memorial Hospital has earned a five-star quality rating in patient care by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) summary star ratings. Memorial Hospital was one of only 381 hospitals out of nearly 3,000 in the United States to have earned the highly sought after five stars in patient care by CMS. The ratings provide consumers with a comparison tool that can be used to help make informed decisions about their healthcare.
- Becker’s Hospital Review has released many of its 2024 recognitions, with Memorial Health securing three distinct honors:
- Becker’s released its 2024 edition of its “Great Community Hospitals” list and Memorial Hospital has been named. According to the announcement, the designation from Beckers indicates Memorial was selected because the organization is known for clinical excellence, compassionate care, economic impact on their communities, and more. The “Great Community Hospitals” list celebrates nine hospitals in Ohio with entities representing communities in Central Ohio, as well as the Cincinnati and Cleveland areas.
- Becker’s has compiled a list of the hospitals patients would recommend in each state using HCAHPS data from CMS. The patient recommendation star rating summarizes how well patients feel that their physicians explained things clearly, listened carefully to them, and treated them with courtesy and respect. Memorial Hospital is one of only 16 hospitals in Ohio named as a “top recommended hospital.”
- Memorial was also ranked as one of the “quietest hospitals,” based again on HCAHPS survey data. Hospital patients were asked about their experience during a recent inpatient hospital stay and the five-star rating was awarded to Memorial based on how quiet patients said their rooms were at night.
- Lastly, Memorial Health has been recognized in the 2024 Healthiest Employers of Ohio, an awards program created to honor people-first organizations that prioritize the well-being of their employee population. Memorial placed fifth in the 500-1000 employee-sized companies of Ohio. The organization was recognized because of their commitment to workplace wellness and their exceptional health and benefits offerings.
Hubbs adds, “We value the health of our employees because they are like family, and it’s our responsibility to lead by example as the leading healthcare provider in our community. We are pleased to earn a high ranking in this competitive statewide challenge.”
