Memorial Health has announced it will implement a series of changes aimed at the prevention and mitigation relative to potential COVID-19 spread. Based on the daily reports from the Governor of Ohio Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health, in addition to the Union County Health Department, Champaign Health District, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Senior Leadership Team at Memorial Health has made the following updates and adjustments:

• The Memorial Health website at www.memorialohio.com has been updated with content about COVID-19 with a link on the front page. This is intended to be informational and educational such that people can care for themselves and make decisions about when to call their primary care physician. Memorial will continue to add and update information on this page as necessary.
• Beginning today at 4 p.m., Memorial Gables will begin temporary restriction of all visitations, again to help alleviate the spread of COVID-19 for residents and staff at the facility. Based on recommendations and direction provided from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), in addition to the Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA), the Memorial Gables leadership team enacted this policy knowing this population has the highest risk, and with the intention to take immediate action to protect them, in addition to the Gables employees. Visitation for any resident experiencing a significant change in condition will be assessed individually to allow for immediate family engagement. All residents and their families were informed of the new visitor policy as of today.
• Effective Monday, March 16, Memorial will be suspending the Community Meals service at the Richwood, Plain City, and Windsor & Community Senior sites. Memorial Mobile Meals will continue service to clients, as of this time. Contingency plans are being put into action to serve the Community Meals clients who depend solely on Memorial for a nutritious meal. Community Meals will relaunch when it is safe for clients to gather again.
• Beginning tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, Memorial Health Volunteer Services is suspending the volunteer program for adults and students, until it is safe for the program to resume.
• As of Monday, March 16, the Memorial Hospital Wellness Center will only be available for use by patients with a physician order, including cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, and peripheral artery disease (PAD) patients. Adult Fitness patients, in addition to Memorial employees, spouses, and family members will not be permitted to use the facility until further notice. In addition, all Wellness Center classes are being cancelled, except those related to rehabilitation patients, until otherwise announced.
• Finally, Memorial is restricting the use of all meeting rooms to internal use only. External groups who have reservations for meeting rooms are being contacted and requested to find alternate spaces.
