Amy Kemp and Kelly Thuma, ASN, RN, have joined the management team of Memorial Gables, Memorial’s skilled nursing facility, as Administrator and Director of Resident Care, respectively.
“Together, Amy and Kelly bring us nearly 50 years of multi-faceted experience in senior healthcare – and we are thrilled to have leaders of this caliber join our Memorial Gables administration,” comments Ashley Boyer, MHA, BSN, RN, and Chief Nursing Officer for Memorial Health. “We are confident both will lead Memorial Gables with a focused concentration on our goals of high-quality, comforting care for our residents every minute of every day.”
As Administrator, Kemp will bring extensive expertise to Memorial Gables, including over 20 years of experience in the senior healthcare field, with a strong background in strategic leadership, team mentoring, regulatory compliance, and customer/resident service.
Most recently, Kemp was owner of ARK Strategic Business Solutions, where she served as an interim executive director and business transformation specialist for skilled nursing facilities across central Ohio. In her work, she has been recognized for progressive strategic planning through tactical execution, combined with advanced levels of customer satisfaction and improved clinical outcomes.
Kemp has a Master of Business Administration from Wright State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Urbana University. Kemp is also a State of Ohio Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
Assuming the leadership role of Director of Resident Care is Kelly Thuma, ASN, RN. Thuma’s experience includes more than 25 years of practical experience in skilled nursing, long term care, and memory care. Most recently, she was Regional Quality Assurance Nurse Manager for Aspire Regional Partners, with key responsibilities of nursing management and monitoring/maintaining regulatory compliance for multiple facilities. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Nursing Service at Allenview Health Care Center in Springfield. In this role, she was responsible for the daily operational management of nursing services for a 120-bed skilled nursing facility included leading, directing, and controlling activities of the nursing personnel to provide optimal resident care.
In addition, Thuma has extensive training in case management, wound care, and quality assurance – she is also certified as an Infection Control Preventionist. Thuma received her Associate of Nursing from Clark State Community College.
