Why do you love your position at the Gables?
I have been with Memorial Health for almost 18 years – 15 of those years were spent working at Memorial Hospital, dealing with the acute care side of healthcare. When I transferred to Memorial Gables, I quickly learned the amazing care we provide at Memorial Gables as well! Working in long-term care, I have gained insight into what it truly means to make a difference in someone’s life; this is one of the biggest reasons I love my job at Memorial Gables (another perk is the daily hugs I receive from our residents)! Working at Memorial Gables, I have learned that each and every day you have the opportunity to either touch the life of someone or they will touch your life. Either way, that in itself is amazing and rewarding – it is just one of the many reasons I love my position at Memorial Gables.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the Gables team?
Anyone who knows me would agree that I wear my smile as part of my daily uniform. With that said, my favorite part of being a team member of the Gables team is bringing a smile to the faces of the residents we serve. Working at the Gables, I have come to learn it is the littlest things that we do – such as taking time to listen, giving a warm hug, bringing a resident a book to read – it is through these small gestures that we make the biggest impact!
