Food & Nutrition
Nutrition for a healthy you.
Whether you want to educate yourself about healthy eating, if you are a senior citizen or disabled person needing meal assistance, a hungry patient in Memorial Hospital, or a visitor in the hospital Café, the chefs, dietitians, and staff in the Food and Nutrition department can assist you.
Nutrition Counseling
Whatever your health needs or goals, the registered dietitians can collaborate with you to evaluate and provide a customized nutrition program for you to:
- Lose weight, or gain weight.
- Manage a chronic health condition, such as diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease.
- Support your sports-related needs. Learn more about our Athletic Performance Nutrition. For more information, or to schedule an initial consultation, call (937) 578-2455.
We also provide nutrition assessment, intervention and counseling for admitted patients at Memorial Hospital.
About Insurance Coverage
We encourage you to check with your insurance carrier to verify whether this is a covered service under your health plan. If you plan to have us bill your insurance carrier, we must receive an order from your physician prior to your appointment, including a diagnosis, a request for a dietitian consult. If you plan to self-pay for nutrition counseling, a referral is not necessary.
Memorial Meals
Our team plans and prepares meals for seniors and disabled individuals served by our Memorial Meals program. The healthy and delicious menus are developed by a registered dietitian.
Mobile Meals
Union County residents who are unable to prepare meals, are over the age of 60, and have restricted mobility or transportation may qualify for Mobile Meals, which are delivered to their homes on weekdays. Supplemental Meals are available to Union County residents under the age of 60 who have a disability, for which a physician prescription is required.
Community Meals
Our staff prepares and serves lunches on weekdays for seniors at locations in Marysville, Richwood, and Plain City.
