Solutions for digestive health.
Diseases of the digestive system can be complex. Many have symptoms that are often hard for you to recognize. Millions of Americans each year are diagnosed with digestive disorders ranging from the occasional upset stomach to life-threatening conditions like colorectal cancer.
If you are experiencing digestive-related problems, have a chronic digestive disease, or need a colonoscopy to screen for colon cancer (advised for people over the age of 45, maybe younger if family history or other risk factors) gastroenterologists are available at Memorial Hospital to evaluate and provide treatment for:
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Heartburn (reflux)
- Abdominal pain
- Conditions including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome
- Gallbladder disease
- Pancreatitis
- Ulcers
- Polyps
- Hemorrhoids
Lesion Bleeding Treatment
Memorial Hospital also has technology for treatment to control bleeding from lesions, or to remove tumors for patients who may not be candidates for traditional surgical procedures. Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC) is used to treat conditions including colonic polyps, esophageal cancer, vascular malformations in the gastrointestinal system, inflammation and damage to the lower colon after radiation therapy, and a vascular condition of the stomach known as gastric antral vascular ectasia.
