Melanie Ziegler has served Memorial Health since 2001 and was named Vice President of Community Engagement in 2017. In this role, she provides executive leadership to a diverse group of departments and functions focused on supporting the health system’s mission and creating an exceptional experience for patients, families, employees, and the community. Her work centers on strengthening Memorial’s connection with the community it serves and advancing initiatives that enhance the health, experience, and well-being of those throughout the region.

Throughout her career at Memorial, Melanie has held a variety of leadership roles, giving her a broad perspective on healthcare, community relations, and organizational strategy. She has been instrumental in building partnerships throughout Union and Champaign counties and strengthening Memorial’s visibility and engagement as a leading regional health system.

Originally from New Hampshire, Melanie grew up on her family’s dairy farm and has maintained a lifelong connection to agriculture and rural communities. She came to Central Ohio in 1993 to join Select Sires, Inc., where she worked in international marketing and communications. She has been a resident of Union County since 1995.

Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, with studies in Biology, Spanish, and International Studies, from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration from Urbana University.

An active community leader, Melanie serves on the Impact60 board and contributes her time and expertise to a number of community, education, agricultural, and faith initiatives. She is a founding member of SheGives Union County, a women’s giving circle under the umbrella of the Union County Foundation. Her professional and community involvement reflects her strong commitment to the people, organizations, and institutions that make Union County and the surrounding region a vibrant place to live and work.

Melanie and her husband, Jeff, live in Union County and are the parents of four adult sons.
