Assistant Medical Director for the Memorial Medical Group
Dr. A. Jacob Boucher sees patients of all ages at the office for Memorial Family & Sports Medicine | Gateway in Marysville. His philosophy is to provide continuity of care for patients, and help them manage chronic conditions. He enjoys working with families and getting to know patients by seeing them on a regular basis.
In addition, his lifelong interest and involvement in sports promoted him to train in Sports Medicine. He says it is a dream come true to be able to provide both primary care and evaluation and treatment in Sports Medicine. Dr. Boucher plans to use Sports Medicine to help patients of all ages, including those who are not athletes. He can also care for non-surgical orthopedic patients and anyone recovering from injury. He has special interest and training in evaluation and treatment of concussions, includes a research project during his residency: Concussion Reporting Practices of Adolescent Student Athletes in Central Ohio.
During his Fellowship at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, Dr. Boucher served as a Sports Medicine physician at Denison University and Hamilton Township High School, and for Grant Hospital’s Saturday Morning Injury Clinic. He has also been a medical or physician volunteer for the USA Triathlon Youth and Junior National Championship, Emerald City Half and Quarter Marathon, and for Iron Man Ohio.
He lives in the Columbus area with his wife and young son. Outside of work, he enjoys family time, reading non-medical fiction, and playing, watching, and coaching sports. He is also an active Community Outreach team member for his church.
