Memorial Health has announced its plans to purchase four acres of land near the newly-constructed flagship Kroger Marketplace, located along Route 42 and Ravenhill Parkway on the northside, for a new healthcare facility. The independent health system is planning for the 40,000-square-foot, two-story, $27.5-million medical office building to be named the Memorial Jerome Medical Center. Groundbreaking targets are set for December 2024/January 2025, with an estimated 12-month construction timeline.
Recognizing the need for a healthcare presence in this vastly expanding area, Memorial has been researching development options for years. Spence Fisher, Executive Vice President at Memorial Health, shares, “Union County is a beacon for a growing populace backed by an expansive and diversified business mix. Over the last 13 years, this particular area of the county has evolved exponentially, making for one of Central Ohio’s strongest growth corridors. Our patient volumes already demonstrate that Memorial sees a significant number of patients that live and work in southern Union County, as well as parts of the Dublin and Plain City areas. Bringing many of our services closer to them makes sense.”
The state-of-the-art facility will be a long-time asset for the community, providing increased access to local, patient-focused healthcare, and utilizing the latest technology and best practices.
Focusing on patient convenience, the Memorial Jerome Medical Center will provide a range of services including primary care, specialty care, occupational medicine, ancillary services, and an urgent care. Patients will have easy access to coordinated services in one convenient location.
“Our goal is to deliver a medical facility that offers the Jerome/Plain City community access to high-quality, convenient care,” provides Fisher. “This project both represents our commitment to best-in-class healthcare accessibility, but also signals our organization’s continued economic growth and development. By expanding our services to the southern region, we are able to deliver the same high-quality, nationally recognized healthcare that Memorial has become known for.”
Project partners in the Memorial Jerome Medical Center include Champlin Architects, Cincinnati; Hplex, Powell; and Corna Kokosing, Westerville.
Previously, Memorial Health had intended to build an outpatient facility at the intersections of Routes 42 and 33. Issues related to roadway development, however, created significant delays for the project. When this property became available, the regional health system was provided an alternative that allows them to move forward right away.
