Health & Wellness
December 1, 2025 – Memorial Health is issuing this statement to correct recent reports suggesting the organization is preparing to leave the Village of Plain City. These claims, reported in a Village Council meeting, and subsequently shared by local media on both social and digital channels, are inaccurate. Memorial Health remains firmly committed to not only continuing to serve residents of Plain City and the surrounding communities but also expanding healthcare services with the opening of the Memorial Jerome Medical Center in the spring of 2026.
Memorial Health was not contacted for fact-checking prior to publication of these reports, resulting in multiple misunderstandings about the organization’s plans. To ensure the public has accurate information, Memorial offers the following clarifications:
Memorial Family Medicine | Plain City Remains in Place
The Memorial Family Medicine practice in Plain City will continue operating at its current location. Long-standing providers Dr. John Adams and CNP Jennifer Roby will remain in the village, joined by Dr. Megan McBride, who recently began practicing with Memorial. While Dr. McBride will eventually practice in Memorial’s future Jerome facility, she is currently seeing patients in the Plain City office as she establishes her practice. The practice is accepting new patients and can often accommodate same-day visits.
Lab services, including walk-in blood draws, will continue to be available at this location for anyone who chooses to visit this Village of Plain City site, both patients of this practice and other residents of the region.
Relocation of Physical Therapy to Jerome
Memorial’s physical therapy services currently located in the retail plaza in front of the municipal building will relocate to the Jerome facility to allow for enhanced space, expanded offerings, and additional staff. This move reflects Memorial’s ongoing investment in improved patient care and increased service capacity.
Occupational Health Plans Remain in Motion
Several years ago, Memorial Health announced plans for an occupational health satellite office near Routes 33 and 42. After site access challenges prevented development, Memorial began seeking alternative space, with the long-term plan to incorporate occupational health into the eventual Jerome project. That plan remains unchanged.
Jerome Facility Will Expand Healthcare Access
Contrary to suggestions that Plain City will become a “medical desert,” Memorial is substantially increasing local healthcare access. The new Jerome facility – located within the Plain City mailing area just seven miles north on Route 42 – will provide:
- Mammography
- X-ray
- Urgent care
- Laboratory services
- Occupational health
- Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)/Audiology
- General surgery
- Neurology
- Oncology
- Orthopedics
- Pain solutions
- Rheumatology
- Sleep medicine
- Urology
These services complement the long-standing practices of Memorial Family Medicine | Plain City and Dr. Tornik’s practice, both of which are located within the Village.
Request for Accurate Communication
Memorial Health is seeking clarification about the source of recent misinformation so that any inaccuracies can be addressed directly and prevented from spreading further. The organization remains committed to transparent communication with Village leadership and the community.
Upcoming Discussion with Village Council
Memorial Health representatives plan to attend the Plain City Village Council meeting on December 8 to answer questions and provide further information about current and future services. Memorial welcomes ongoing dialogue about how the organization can continue serving the Plain City area.
