As a sports medicine physician, Dr. Wagner provides specialized and comprehensive care catered specifically to athletes, active people, and those who want to be more active. He can also care for non-surgical orthopedic patients and anyone recovering from injury. Additionally, Dr. Wagner specializes in regenerative medicine – non-surgical measures to enhance the body’s natural healing process.
Dr. Wagner’s lifelong interest and involvement in sports prompted him to train in Sports Medicine. At Ohio Northern University, he played football and ran track, earning six varsity letters. He was Ohio Athletic Conference Long Jump Champion three times, qualified for the NCAA national competition three times, and wants to be the 80-year-old who can compete and do the long jump as far as possible.
Dr. Wagner is currently the Head Boys Track Coach at Buckeye Valley, specifically coaching long jump, high jump, and hurdles. In the second year of his tenure, the team won league and districts for the first time in school history. He also previously coached the Cheetahs Track Club based out of Ohio Wesleyan University and was formally the team physician for the Kent State Golden Flashes and the Akron Aeros.
He lives in the Delaware area with his wife, Natalie, and their two daughters. The Wagner family has a passion for their well-known Halloween parties, and they look forward to the season every year. They also love to spend time on their 15-acre hobby hay farm with a goal to add horses in the future.
Always a coach at heart, Dr. Wagner enjoys cheering on his daughters, who are both multi-sport athletes.
Dr. Wagner also has a personal fitness passion and has found a home in the principles of CrossFit, which allow him to lean into the holistic approaches of training and nutrition he values as both a former collegiate athlete and a multi-sport, multi-level coach.
