Memorial Health has a long-established volunteer program with both student and adult opportunities. More than 300 volunteers give of their time and talent to the organization in a variety of roles throughout the hospital campus and outpatient facilities. Every year during “National Volunteer Week,” Memorial recognizes its corps of volunteers with a series of awards, one of which is the Points of Light President’s Volunteer Service Award.
The Points of Light President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is a highly prestigious and coveted national award recognizing outstanding volunteer service and civic participation. Recipients earning this distinction receive a PVSA pin, in addition to a certificate of achievement and congratulatory letter signed by the President of the United States. Graduating seniors also receive a medallion to wear during their high school commencement.
As a certified Points of Light organization, Memorial is proud to recognize 40 student volunteers who earned this award in 2024 for volunteering 50 hours or more of service at the healthcare system.
