Finally, a selection committee has awarded the winner of the 2025 Dr. Douglas S. Dr. Skura was a compassionate Memorial Health team member and devoted physician for over 15 years. He provided unwavering dedication to his patients and found great purpose in taking care of others. This scholarship was established to recognize the contributions he made to medicine and honor his legacy.
This year’s recipient is Katie Krueger, a 2021 graduate of Marysville High School. This fall she plans to attend medical school at one of the following institutions – the University of Toledo College of Medicine, The Ohio State University College of Medicine, or East Tennessee State University College of Medicine.
The Dr. Douglas S. The applicant must currently reside in Union County, Ohio; have graduated from a high school in Union County, Ohio; be employed at Memorial Hospital (Marysville, Ohio); or be an immediate relative of an employee at Memorial Hospital. This is the second year for the scholarship.
