May 22, 2026 – On Wednesday, Kenneth McHattie, MS, CPXP, Director of Patient Experience at Memorial Health, was selected as a finalist for the 2026 Ohio Hospital Association’s (OHA) Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award. The award is presented annually to an Ohio healthcare employee who personifies leadership, reflects the mission and values of their organization, routinely performs work in an exemplary manner, and gives back to the community.
Chip Hubbs, Memorial CEO, shares, “Being nominated for the Health Care Worker of the Year Award is already a tremendous honor. The OHA nomination committee received nearly 70 nominees for this award, spanning approximately 280 Ohio hospitals. In my 22 years as CEO at Memorial, this is the first time that a Memorial nominee has been selected as a finalist. This is a very meaningful achievement and recognition for Ken and for our organization.”
He continues, “Anyone that knows or has worked with Ken understands what an amazing person he is. The impact he has made on Memorial Health and the delivery of healthcare in our community is significant. I am so happy for Ken to receive this recognition – not just from his peers, but from the entire community of Ohio hospitals.”
McHattie has served as Director of Patient Experience since 2015. During his decade-long tenure, Memorial has made remarkable strides in patient experience, with McHattie’s leadership playing a pivotal role in that success.
Speaking on his accolade, McHattie provides, “I’m simply humbled. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside countless people whose dedication to serving others inspired me. I follow their lead with a goal of not necessarily being the best in healthcare, but being the best for healthcare.”
