If you are sick with an infection, or need answers about your health status, time is of the essence. Memorial Hospital’s state-of-the-art laboratory technology provides rapid, on-site diagnosis for many infections, enabling treatment to begin earlier for patient recovery.

Memorial Hospital’s Laboratory houses the GeneXpert and illumigene® molecular diagnostics equipment, which rapidly amplify and analyze the DNA of bacteria in test samples taken from patient body fluids, stool samples, or tissues.

A wide variety of laboratory tests are processed on-site in our laboratory, providing quick answers for you and your doctor about your health. The results of most routine tests are available within 48 hours.

For your convenience, we operate laboratory draw stations at five locations.

• When you visit, bring along your physician order so we will know exactly which tests are needed.
• You will be asked to provide your insurance card upon registration, and you will be responsible for payment of any laboratory services not covered by your insurance company.

Patient-Ordered Laboratory Testing

You don’t even need a physician’s order for our cost-effective and quick Patient-Ordered Lab Testing, which is available on a walk-in basis. You can have your test results mailed to you, or you can pick the report up, with appropriate identification, within 24 hours in most cases. Payment by cash or check for Patient-Ordered Lab Testing is required at the time of testing.

Your report will include your results, along with a general explanation detailing the expected parameters for each test. If you would like a more detailed explanation, you may contact our pathologist. If your test result shows that there is a critical issue, you will be contacted and advised to seek immediate medical attention with your physician.
